STATUS OF IMPLEMENTATION OF DECISIONS TAKEN AT THE 3RD ORDINARY GENERAL ASSEMBLY MEETING OF THE KWAEBIBIREM MUNICIPAL ASSEMBLY HELD ON FRIDAY, 28TH OCTOBER 2022

1.

Decision was taken for the Zonal Councils to recruit revenue collectors to assist in revenue collection.

Four revenue collectors have been recruited by both Kade Zonal Council and Nkwatanang Zonal Council to assist in revenue collection.

2.

Decision was taken by the house for management to educate the public especially herdsmen on the adverse effects on the use of the road by cattle.

The Information Officer together with the Environmental Health Officer use the information van to go round and sensitize cattle owners at Kade, Zongo, Abaase and other communities. They also met the herdsmen and asked them to use the alternative roads instead of the main road.

Management was tasked to liaise with the police to curtail the emergence of ‘wee ghettos’ within the municipality.

The police have conducted a swoop operation at Kade Zongo and Abaase.

The Assembly took a decision to register all palm fruit weighing centers within the municipality in order to regulate and monitor their activities.

The Agric. Department has started with the registration of the weighing centers at Takyimang and Atobiriso for the phase one and the rest of the communities will follow.

5.

Management was also tasked to provide office accommodation for the immigration service.

The project is yet to be captured in the Action Plan and Budget of the Assembly due to lack of funds.

Decision was taken for the Assembly to support the completion of the uncompleted GES Block to serve as office spaces to other officers.

The Assembly has officially written to GETFUND secretariat to facilitate the completion of the project.

7.

The Hon. Assembly Members were tasked to submit two community-initiated projects that will be funded by the 2% DACF.

The works department has received proposals from 8 communities which include Kubease, Abaase, Pramkese, Tiboase, Kwae, and Ntronang.

  • Completion of office accommodation for the Municipal Education Department.



  • The Assembly to liaise with the District Police to curtail the emergence of ‘wee ghettos’ in the municipality.



  • The Assembly should regulate the movement of cattle along the main road to prevent accident.






  • The Assembly should monitor and regulate all palm fruit weighing centers to minimize stealing.

The Assembly has written to the GETFUND secretariat to take over the project in order to complete it for use.



The District Police Command undertook a swoop at Abaase and other communities of which some people were arrested for possession of narcotics.


The Municipal Environmental Officer and the Information Officer met the cattle owners and the herdsmen to educate them about effects of their action on the road.



The Agric. Department has commenced the registration of all weighing centers within the municipality to mitigate theft cases of palm fruits.
