NEW PROPERTY RATE ROLLOUT: GRA, MMDAS TARGET GHC 1.77BILLION ON 15TH MARCH,2023

The Ghana Revenue Authority (GRA), in collaboration with the Ministry of Local Government, Decentralization and Rural Development and the Lands Commission, has collected data required to bill all properties in the country. Hence, Property Rates is paid to your local assembly for rapid development. NB. Property Rates are managed locally not centrally.

Basically is to roll out the old system used in collecting property rate which is cash payment to electronic means of payment.

With the old system a lot of properties weren’t identified hence hindering the Assembly to collect more of the property rate, but with the new system being rolled out, such problems will be addressed.

Another is, the owners themselves can make payments via their electronic devices without collectors going there for collections which are easier and better. This are but few improvement on the property rate collection. On 15th March,2023
