ASAMANKESE ZONE FESTIVAL OF CREATIVE ARTS AND CULTURE FOR BASIC SCHOOLS.

 

INTRODUCTION:

The report covers activities undertaken by Cultural Co-ordinators within the Zone.

The activities included:

  • Date for the Zonal Basic Schools Festival of Creative Arts and Culture.
  • Preparation towards the Zonal Basic Schools Festival of Creative Arts and Culture
  • The one-day Zonal Basic Schools Festival of Creative Arts and Culture.
  • The cost of organizing the Asamankese zonal festival of Creative art and Culture at Kwaebibirem

The Asamankese Zonal Festival of Creative Art and Culture is an annual event that takes place in the Zone. This event is a celebration of the rich cultural heritage and artistic expressions of the Basic Schools in the area. It is an opportunity for (learners) artists, musicians, dancers, and other creative to showcase their talents and connect with the local community.


                             PURPOSE OF THE REPORT:
The purpose of this report is to provide an overview of the Zonal Festival of Creative Art and Culture in the Asamankese Zone. The report will highlight the key features of the event, including its objectives, activities, and impact on the zonal community. It will also examine the challenges faced by organizers and stakeholders in ensuring the success of the festival.

OBJECTIVES OF THE ZONAL FESTIVAL OF CREATIVE ART AND CULTURE:
The Zonal Festival of Creative Art and Culture has several objectives, including:
1.To promote cultural diversity and appreciation of the arts in the Asamankese Zone.
2. To provide a platform for (learners) local artists and creative to showcase their talents and connect with the community.
3. To attract tourists and visitors to the area, thereby boosting the local economy.

4. To select artists to represent the zone at the Regional level.

ACTIVITIES AT THE ZONAL FESTIVAL OF CREATIVE ART AND CULTURE:
The festival features a range of activities, including:
1. Art exhibitions showcasing paintings, sculptures, and other forms of visual art.
2. Musical performances featuring pupils in choral music
3. Dance performances showcasing traditional and contemporary dance forms.
4. Workshops and seminars on various aspects of art, culture, and creativity.
5. Cultural displays featuring traditional clothing, food, and other aspects of local culture.

IMPACT OF THE CIRCUIT FESTIVAL OF CREATIVE ART AND CULTURE:

4. Limited access to venues suitable for hosting the festival.
5. Inadequate marketing and promotion of the festival to attract a wider audience.

6. Not all participating District Directors were present.

7. Not all Districts paid the affiliation fees.

RECOMMENDATIONS.
1. Increase funding and resources to support the festival, including providing schools with necessary equipment and materials.
2. Allow more time for students to prepare and rehearse for their performances, possibly by extending the duration of the festival.
3. Establish a clear and efficient system for coordinating and scheduling performances from multiple schools.
4. Identify suitable venues for hosting the festival and ensure they are accessible and well-equipped.
5. Develop a comprehensive marketing and promotion plan to increase awareness of the festival, including utilizing social media and other digital platforms.

6. All District Directors within the zone must be present during the durbar.

7. The Region should appoint adjudicators for all the Zonal Festivals to ensure fairness.
