KWAEBIBIREM MUNICIPAL ASSEMBLY IS VISITED BY THE EASTERN REGIONAL COORDINATING DIRECTOR

The Eastern Regional Coordinating Director visited the Kwaebibirem Municipal Assembly on 17th July, 2023, along with a group of regional authorities, to evaluate and address the main problems with the municipal assembly's performance and operations. The effectiveness of the Client Service Unit, the general cleanliness of municipal assembly spaces, and the introduction of mandatory medical insurance for all Local Government Service employees were the key issues of concern mentioned during the visit. Mr. Fred Owusu Akowuah, the Municipal Coordinating Director, welcomed the RCD and employees of the RCC to the Municipal and emphasized how honorable it was to receive them there on behalf of the Municipal Chief Executive and personnel. He continued by saying that the crew was ready to hear any messages they had from him.

The Eastern Regional Coordinating Director was extremely concerned about the problem of staff members consistently showing up late for work. This persistent issue has had a negative impact on several assemblies' public image and productivity. Punctuality was underlined during discussions as being essential to maintaining an effective and efficient public service. The Regional Coordinating Director advised the assembly's management to take urgent action to address this problem, including enforcing disciplinary measures against persistent tardiness and putting in place a system to check attendance. Concerns regarding the Client Service Unit's (CSU) effectiveness were expressed during the visit. The regional coordinator emphasized the crucial part played by the CSU in delivering high-quality services to locals and developing a favorable perception of the gathering. The CSU's activities were to be thoroughly examined by the Municipal Assembly Management, and steps to increase its effectiveness and responsiveness to citizen needs were to be taken.

The decision to adopt mandatory medical insurance for all Local Government Service employees inside the Kwaebibirem Municipal Assembly was one of the important announcements made during the visit. The Regional Coordinating Director emphasized the value of protecting employee and family welfare, particularly during medical situations. By offering a safety net and improving employee wellbeing, this approach hopes to boost employee engagement and productivity. He continued by saying that the insurance premium for each employee will cost thirty Ghana Cedis (GHC30.00), and he urged everyone to sign up for the program.

After more consideration of the points raised and discussion. The Kwaebibirem Municipal Assembly's administration and workers were thanked by the Regional Coordinating Council for their attendance. Finally, he said that all staff complaints would be forwarded to the proper authorities for resolution.
